The evaluation in Physical Education

Hii,

Do you know how the evaluation is done in physical education???

In physical education, the teacher´s roll at the time of evaluation is different from other subjects.
The teacher doesn't only take an exam or test and the score of the students. The teacher must evaluate the attitudes and values of the students, being this process a little subjetive.

Therefore, the rol of the teacher is more subjetive than other subjects. In physical education, the progress and the day to day are highly valued. However, theorical exams and practical exams are also carried out to evaluate our students.

Below, we show you a PDF about the new trends of evaluation in physical education:

The influence of politics on our Physical Education

How can the politics influence in our subject? Negatively or positively?? 😑

First of all, we think Physical Education is essential in the children development in order to learn competences for life, like the attitudes and values, and to give them an opportunity to know how to develop an active and healthy lifestyle, because first of all we are educating people.

This intervention cannot be left in the hand of just anybody. It's necessary to protect children through Physical Education and sport programs. So, the intervention has to be adequate in terms of quality and quantity.

Nowadays, there is a great concern about the distance between the physical eduaction and sport policies commitments and their compliance. The current policies of the government of Spain don't follow the international guidelines that recommend an increase in hours of our subject in the official education system.

The data provided by the European Commision show that Spain occupies the last positions in teaching ours dedicated to Physical Education.

This problem makes that our country follows or works through a sport model that belongs to the XX century.

What do you think about this topic??

English in physical education classes

Hi!! 😄

What do you think about introducing English in our Physical Education classes? It sounds great, don't you think? 😉😉

It's not necessary to speak English all the time, but we can use it in order to work the transverse components of our subject, collaborating with the other subjects and teachers.

For example, in the high school we are working in, there are many students that speak english and it can be a problem because our classes are in Valencian. So, we promote the collaboration between the students. That is, the valencian student can assist his/her friend to understand what we are explaining. This student will receive a reward (+1 point).

We propose to begin by introducing words of the warm-up vocabulary, but there are many other possibilites.
We show you a PDF about this.

Example of Multicultural Games

Hello friends!!! 😜

Now, we present you an example of Multicultural games session we have done in the subject of Pedagogical fundaments of the game.

As you can see, there are many traditional games of different countries and we are going to explain them:

Spain: in this game, there are two teams. Each team have 6 cones at the end of their field. They have to protect them because the players of the other team have to take them without getting caughted, because he/she have to bring the cone to his/her field. The team which gets more cones wins the game.

Morocco: it's like the traditional game called "pilla-pilla" but we introduce a variation. The player who catch have to adopt the position showed in the video and he/she have to catch his/her friends. If one of them is caughted, this person have to play the new role.

Austria: There is a person who catch and he/she is situated in the middle of a circle made by his/her firends with his/her eyes closed. This person have to guess who have changed his/her position in the circle.

Colombia: The same circle and another person who catch saying "tingo" but, when he/she says "tango", the person who have the object in his/her hands will be the catcher.

Adaptive sports

Hiiii!! 😃

Today, we are going to talk about adaptive sports and how these kind of sport can help many people.

It´s very important to know adaptive sports since there are a large number of students with disabilities and we must be prepared to respond adequately.

In our career, Sport Sciences, we have designed sessions for us, for our friends. We have to consider that none on them had movement limitations. Now, we also have to consider that it's possible that in the future we work with people who presents a disability. So, we must be prepared to respond adequately. We had a subject called Deporte para personas con Discapacidad in which we have worked and refllected specifically this issue, playing for example basketball or tennis sitting on a specific chair.

Here we show you a PDF about the adaptive sports and recreation. Hope it will help you 😃

El calentamiento en Educación Física de MAESTRO60

In addition, are you making a good warm-up to your students?? How can we know it?
There are several opinions about which kind of warm-up is the best (static, dynamic, foam roller, etc.)
