Rope jump

Hi friends! 😀👋

This third trimester we are going to carry out the corporal expression, music 🎶 and movement didactic block.

In the first session, we have been evaluating the students on the basic skills of rope jumping. Then, they will have to work together, in groups, in order to perform rope jumping choreographies.

Thus, we are also working some subject (ethical and social) values. In this case the TEAMWORK 👬

We show you some videos about basic jumps that students must perform, including:

• Both feet together
• Opening-closing
• Crossing
• Scissors
• Lateral
• Running

¿Did you know Valencian Pilota?

Valencian Pilota is a traditional sport of Comunidad Valenciana, Spain. 

There are different game modalities in which we use the hand to hit the ball. We protect it with a special glove made by us, using sometimes steel pieces. ✋✋

Some modalities, like Raspall or Escala i Corda, are played in a specific playing area called "trinquet", but the other modalities, like "Llargues" or "Palma", are played in the street. Yes! In a street!

All of them are direct game modalities, but there is a game modality, called "Fontó", in which we play against a wall.

In the following video, we are playing one of these modalities. It is called "Raspall" and we play in the "trinquet". The ball may bounce as many times as needed. Since players are forced to play stooped many times, it is considered the hardest variation to play.

Handball session

Hello again! 😀👋

Today we would like to share with you an example of ⚽handball session⚽ we have done this week.

It consists of:

• Students are divided into three groups (3 teams). 
• There are two teams playing the match. The other team rests.
• Teams have to 🏆score a goal🏆 to win the match and to keep playing.
• The team who receives a goal will be the team who rests.

In order to build the field, we use mats to mark the handball area. Following handball rules, 

a player can not step on the mat or on the area.

We play like beach handball, that is, if a player does a somersault and he scores, the worth of that goal is 2 points. The worth of a normal goal is 1 point.

At he end of the session we recount the points of each team.

Basketball session video

In 🏀 basketball sessions 🏀 we use the same methodology we have applied in volleyball sessions. That is:

• Warm-up: joint mobility with 2 minutes of continuous running.🏃🏃

• Main part: 6 students teams were formed at the beginning of the trimester. They compete each other in a league during the trimester. Only 2 teams compete in each session. The other teams use the session in order to train. There is a student who performs the role of trainer in each team.

The use of TRX

💡💡What do you think about strength training in our physical education sessions?💪

What about using TRX to do it?💡💡

On the one hand, strength training in children and adolescents has been shown to bring numerous
benefits in health, fitness and performance (Lloyd et al., 2014)📕

The TRX can be defined as a strength training method in which the person is suspended (or not), 
using the own body weight, without overloads. Furthermore, it is easy to use and install. We use a TV
to show the class how to do the exercises.
